PLA is a means tested allowance which is payable to students with dependent children.
When you apply for an NHS Bursary we will assess your eligibility for PLA automatically.
If you have a spouse, civil partner or partner who is also an NHS funded student, PLA can either be paid to you in full or your partner in full or paid to both of you at half of the full rate each.
If you have a partner who is a non NHS funded student, PLA would be paid to you at the full rate, if you qualify for it after means testing.
