When a GP leaves a practice, their old pads should be securely destroyed so they can no longer be used.

If your practice has used a GP’s pad, this will still be processed. The prescribing costs could be allocated incorrectly if the GP is linked with a new practice.

If this is the case, you must discuss this with your Sub ICB Location (SICBL).

If a prescriber has died, we’ll keep their code on our system for 6 months. If a prescription is dispensed within 6 months of their death, we can still process it and allocate prescribing costs.
