Prescriptions with a handwritten quantity are not considered an amendment and pharmacy contractors would be reimbursed based on the prescribed quantity unless the dispenser endorsement indicates that a lesser quantity was supplied.
For example, if an item name is stamped but additional information is handwritten (to clarify amount / strength etc.) this doesn't need to be initialled and signed as it isn't a hand amendment and will be processed and reimbursed accordingly.
You can find further information on the PSNC website if necessary.
Will you process a dental prescription which has handwritten information added to the stamp?
