Primary Care Support England are responsible for creating clinician numbers in England.
The Local Health Board are responsible for creating clinician in Wales.
Once a clinician is added to the GDC register, you can add them on Compass. The GDC register is updated on Compass once a month.

If you try to create a clinician on Compass who is not on the GDC register, you will receive the error message ‘GDC number doesn't exist'. This error can be overridden by pressing ‘Ok’ on the pop-up message and continuing to create the clinician if you have one of the following user roles:
- Administrator Plus Primary User
- Primary Users
- Clinician Create and Update
