Under normal circumstances, the removal of the appliance(s) signifies the end of a course of orthodontic treatment and the start of the retention period; therefore the claim is submitted as a completion claim, and doesn't receive any UOA.
Where a performer is asked to remove an orthodontic appliance placed by a different provider, the performer/contract holder should discuss the management of the situation with their Commissioner (Sustainability and Transformation Partnership / Local Health Board) before proceeding.
