We recommend you submit FP17s and FP17Os regularly and as early as possible.

You must make sure you're transmitting regularly.

FP17

You have 2 months from the date of completion of a course of NHS treatment to submit your FP17. This is known as the '2-month rule'.

If we receive a claim after this time, the Units of Dental Activity (UDAs) will be disallowed and the claim will be marked as 'Late Submitted Claim' on your schedule.

If you've missed the cut off for a claim, you're still legally required to submit the FP17 as the treatment provided must be recorded.

FP17O

All FP17Os must be submitted within 2 months of the event.

FP17O conclusion forms must be submitted at the end of active treatment.

Failed To Return (FTR) submissions for incomplete courses of treatment are not subject to the 2-month rule.

Any FP17 or FP17O received after the date your Year End report is published will not count towards your contract's activity performance for the correct financial year.
