What is a Foundation Dentist (FD)?

A FD is usually a newly qualified clinician.

Anyone who qualifies as a clinician must carry out a one year period of vocational training.

Providers are responsible for the work of FDs attached to their contract.

If you're a provider who's looking to check if a FD is attached to a contract, you can do this on Compass.

1. Select Contract.
2. Select Contract Search.
3. Find the contract in question.
4. Select View.
5. Select Performers.

Any FD will be listed here with the clinicians.
