NHS guidelines don't specify a specific number of missed appointments after which a practice can decline further appointments. This is an internal practice policy and should be outlined in the practice leaflet.
However, it's recommended that the number of missed appointments should not be less than two failed visits.
If the patient has paid for all planned treatment at the start of the Course of Treatment (CoT), they should be refunded for any balance owed.
