NHS Regulations include a retention period of 2 years beginning with the date on which a course of treatment or orthodontic treatment is terminated or complete, however, the Consumer Protection Act 1987 places a duty on the dentist to retain all clinical records (including radiographs) for at least eleven years for adults and for children for fifteen years or up to age 25, whichever is the longer. NHS Dental Services may retain financial records for a minimum of 6 years.



NHS Dental Services would therefore consider the paper PR forms need to be retained for at least eleven years for adults and for children for eleven years or up to age 25, whichever is the longer.
