All performers who apply to join a Commissioner (Sustainability and Transformation Partnership / Local Health Board) dental performer list must provide evidence of completion of Vocational Training unless they are exempt.

To be exempt, a performer must be an EEA national (non-UK) with an appropriate European Diploma and GDC registration or they must have practiced in primary care for two years, full time within the last four years in community dental services, armed forces or prior to 1 April 2006 in PDS.

Dentists who aren't exempt and don't have a VT number or a VT certificate will need to be assessed by the Deanery and complete any programme of training and period of supervised employment determined by the postgraduate Dental Dean.
