Orthodontic appliances including anti-thumb sucking devices and space maintainers can be provided by practices who are contracted to carry out orthodontic treatment as such appliances require orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
If your practice is contracted to perform UDAs only, you are unable to provide orthodontic appliances or carry out orthodontic work. Please direct the patient to an NHS orthodontic practice for this treatment.
