Sectioning of a bridge falls under whichever Course of Treatment (CoT) is being undertaken:
- if a replacement bridge was provided, it would be part of that Band 3 CoT
- if your sectioning the bridge and extracting an abutment tooth, it would be part of that Band 2 CoT or Unscheduled Care
- if your sectioning the cantilever section of a bridge and no further treatment was planned, it would be part of the Band 1 CoT or Unscheduled Care
As with any Band 1, Band 2 or Band 3 claim, an examination and an assessment of the patient's oral health and completion of the planned treatment is a requirement.
