24-hour retirement is where a performer takes their NHS pension and returns to work.

There must take a break in employment for 24-hours of retirement before they can return to work.

How to apply

To apply to take 24-hour retirement, complete the ‘Employee’ sections of the AW8 application form.

Send this form to NHS Dental Services who will complete the ‘Employer’ sections of the AW8:

BN21 3UT

The form is then forwarded it to NHS Pensions who will respond with the outcome within 3 months.

Your commissioner will need 3 months’ notice before you take your NHS Pension.
