Raise your complaint with the practice by asking for a copy of their complaints procedure.
If you do not want to complain to your practice, follow the guidance for:
NHS dental care
You can raise the complaint with the NHS directly by contacting your:
- local Integrated Care Board (ICB) in England
- Local Health Board (LHB) in Wales
If you’re not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you can raise this with the relevant Ombudsman:
- Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman in England
- Public Services Ombudsman for Wales in Wales
The Ombudsman can only deal with a complaint after you've followed the complaints procedure at your practice or at your ICB or LHB.
Private dental care
You can raise the complaint with Dental Complaints Service.
This service is funded by the General Dental Council (GDC). The GDC set standards of conduct and regulate all dental professionals in the UK.
