If your child is in registered childcare, you can claim 85% of your actual childcare costs.

For all students, the amount awarded depends on your circumstances and the income available to you and your family.

If you're in your final year of study, you can claim childcare costs from the first day of your academic year until the term end date. This date is provided by your university.

You can claim for retainer childcare costs if they’re part of your contract with the provider and are within the dates of your academic year. These costs must be included as part of your weekly amounts you declare on the childcare application.

If your childcare provider charges you separately for the cost of meals, these can be included in your overall weekly costs.

You must keep your receipts for all childcare costs you pay.
