Travel allowance may be used to pay any additional expenditure for travel in the UK to attend your university or practice placement.

This must be arranged as part of the course as it's reasonably incurred due to your disability.

We help towards the excess costs you incur compared to the cost of the same journey on public transport.

When you attend your practice placements, you do not need to complete a Travel and Dual Accommodation Expenses (TDAE) form to claim these costs.

The costs must be quoted in your Needs Assessment Report (NAR).

If your placements are unknown at the time your Needs Assessment takes place, the Needs Assessor must send us additional quotes before your placement starts to allow us to pay towards any placement travel.
