All course extensions should be authorised by the University and Health Education England (HEE) and this will not always include the payment of tuition fees.
Childcare payments will never be automatically paid for a period of extension. A new Childcare Allowance application form is required in all cases, regardless of the extension length.
24 weeks or less
All other elements of the bursary will be automatically paid for the period of the extension even if you have had more than one extension period and the total adds up to more than 24 weeks.
More than 24 weeks
You will need to reapply for all means tested elements of your bursary.
