Your bursary award is paid in 3 termly instalments.

For September starters payments are made in September, January and May. This is subject to your application being approved and your university confirming you are in attendance.

Once your application is approved you can view the expected payment dates on your NHS Bursary account.

Your bursary is paid into the bank or building society account you supplied details for. If you are not the account holder make sure you have their permission to enter their details.

If your academic year started in 2021/2022 and you applied using the Bursary Online Support System (BOSS) payments will normally be made in 12 monthly instalments.

In your final year of study the bursary is paid in monthly instalments relating to the end date of your course. For example, if your final year commences on 16 September and ends on 20 June, your bursary is paid in 10 instalments (September - June).
