How is my NHS Bursary paid?

Your bursary award is paid in 3 termly instalments.

The payment dates are subject to your application being approved and your university confirming you're in attendance.

Once your application is approved, you can view the expected payment dates on your NHS Bursary account.

Your bursary is paid into the bank or building society account you supplied details for.

If you're not the account holder, make sure you have their permission to enter their details.

Medical or Dental academic year starts in a different month to your previous NHS funded year

Your payment schedule is determined by your academic year term dates. As Medical and Dental courses often have non-standard start months, you may have an overlap or a gap between payments if you're receiving an NHS Bursary over more than one year.

If your application has been approved and your payment schedule has been generated in advance of the standard payment date, expect the second payment of the month one or 2 weeks after the first.

If your next academic year starts in a later month, there will be a break between your monthly payments.
