If you're an undergraduate medical or dental student and you're intercalating to undertake a course at Bachelors or Masters level, you may be eligible for NHS Bursary funding from your fifth year of study onwards, regardless of when your intercalation year occurs. This does not include PhD level.

For graduate entry medical or dental students, you may be eligible for NHS Bursary funding from your second year of study onwards, regardless of when your intercalation year occurs.

If you intercalate to undertake a 2 or 3 year course at PhD level, you're not eligible for NHS Bursary support during this period. You may be eligible for NHS funding for more than one period of intercalation.
