This depends on the member who’s joining.

Officer members including Non-General Practitioner (GP) Providers who have Officer status

Complete an SS10 Joiner form.

The paper SS10 requests confirmation of your ‘EA Personal Reference Number’. You must enter the employee’s payroll reference number.

If you’re completing the form on Pensions Online (POL), it will ask for the employee's payroll number.

If a member is eligible to re-join the Scheme, POL will not allow you to submit an SS10 joiner form. Email a manual SS10 as an attachment to datamanagement@nhsbsa.nhs.uk.

Officer members at GP Practices or Out of Hours (OOHs) Providers

Complete an SS10GP Joiner form.

Principle Practitioners, Assistance Practitioners, GP Locums and Dental Practitioners

Complete an SS14 Joiner form.

Completing the Joiner forms

Employers with POL must complete the forms on POL.

For non-POL employers the forms are available on our Employer Hub.

A joiner excel spreadsheet is available if you’re opting in multiple members of staff. Non-POL employers must send these forms to schemeaccess@nhsbsa.nhs.uk.

There’s an employee questionnaire on the website for you to make sure that eligible members are enrolled in the Scheme. This is for your records and must not be sent to us.
