Once you've received your PCN, you can pay for it using a debit or credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay on our website.
You can also set up a Direct Debit (DD).
If you’re making a part payment, when the system asks:
- ‘What do you want to do next’, select I was not entitled and need to pay a penalty charge notice
- ‘How would you like to pay’, select Debit or Credit card
- ‘Do you want to pay the full amount still to pay’, select No, I want to make a partial payment
- ‘How much are you paying today’, enter the amount in the ‘Amount to pay’ box
If you're unable to pay or set up a DD online, you can make payment 24 hours a day by calling our payment line:
- 0300 330 1293 for Dental Exemption Checking Service
- 0300 330 9291 for Prescription Exemption Checking Service
If you're making a partial payment, select 'part payment' and type the amount into your phone when prompted.
Once you’ve made a payment on the payment line, you’ll be asked if you want to make another payment. This means you can pay for multiple cases on the same call.
Telephone payments are collected using an automated payment system to make sure your information is secure. Our payment system is not compatible with translation services or Relay UK.
We do not accept American Express (AMEX).
If you cannot pay using these methods, you can send a cheque or Postal Order to ‘NHS Business Services Authority’. You must write your reference number and postcode on the back.
If you want to pay for multiple cases using one cheque or Postal Order, you must write all the reference numbers on the back.
Separate cheques or Postal Orders must be sent if you’ve got separate Dental and Prescription cases.
