You can pay your PCN in full or set up a Direct Debit (DD) on our website.

You can only make payment once you've received a PCN. If you've only received an enquiry letter, you cannot make a payment.

Read information about setting up a DD.

If you're unable to pay or set up a DD online, you can make payment 24 hours a day by calling our payment line:

  • 0300 330 1293 for Dental Exemption Checking Service (DECS)
  • 0300 330 9291 for Prescription Exemption Checking Service (PECS)

You can make part payment towards your outstanding balance by choosing the ‘part payment’ option and typing the amount into your phone when asked.

Once you’ve made a payment on the payment line, you’ll be asked if you want to make another payment. This means you can pay for multiple cases on the same call.

Telephone payments are collected using an automated payment system to make sure your information is secure. Our payment system is not compatible with translation services or Relay UK.

If you cannot pay using these methods, you can send a cheque or Postal Order to ‘NHS Business Services Authority’. You must write your reference number and postcode on the back.

If you want to pay for multiple cases using one cheque or Postal Order, you must write all the reference numbers on the back.

If you’ve got separate DECS and PECS cases, separate cheques or Postal Orders must be sent.
