Drugs included in Column 1 of Part XVIIIB of the Drug Tariff (the ?SLS? list) can only be prescribed for the persons described in column 2 for the treatment of the purpose described in Column 3.
When prescribing drugs listed in Part XVIIIB of the Drug Tariff, prescribers must endorse the prescription 'SLS'.
Examples
- Ketoconazole 2% cream is a Drug Tariff Category C drug but Nizoral 2% cream (Janssen-Cilag Ltd) is included in Part XVIIIB and needs to be endorsed SLS
- Sildenafil tablets are Category M drugs but Viagra tablets (Pfizer) are included in Part XVIIIB therefore needs to be endorsed SLS
