Part XVIIIB of the Drug Tariff reproduces Schedule 2 of the NHS (General Medical Services Contracts) (Prescription of Drugs etc) Regulations 2004 which are drugs that can be prescribed only in certain circumstances.

Please be aware that SLS restrictions also apply to vacuum pumps and constrictor rings listed in Part IXA of the Drug Tariff.

These drugs and devices are only for patients with the stated medical conditions, and not for any other purpose. NHS Prescription Services cannot advise in regards to which conditions an SLS product can be prescribed for.

If a drug is in Part XVIIIB or is a vacuum pump or constrictor ring listed in Part IXA, prescribers must order these drugs by endorsing ?SLS? in the main body of an FP10 prescription to confirm these products have been prescribed in accordance with the Regulations. A dispenser cannot add the SLS endorsement to a prescription; only the prescriber can do this.

For EPS2 prescriptions, the prescriber must use the SLS endorsement option on their prescribing system. Please contact the system provider for more information on how to do this.
