If the prescriber has clearly indicated that mixed, assorted or various flavours should be dispensed, one fee per flavour is paid.
Each flavour is paid separately so may not show on the expensive items breakdown on the Schedule of Payments unless the cost per flavour exceeds £100.
Endorsing
If the prescriber orders mixed or assorted flavours then it is best practice for you to endorse exactly which flavours you have given as opposed to the number of different of flavours you have used.
For example '2 × 200ml banana, 4 × 200ml strawberry' instead of '2 flavours'.
Mixed / assorted flavours not specified
If only one flavour has been ordered by the prescriber, then we will only reimburse one flavour, regardless of how many flavours have been endorsed.
If no flavour or flavour not specified has been prescribed then we will only pay for a single flavour; we will not accept endorsements of multiple/assorted flavours dispensed.
In order to be paid a separate fee per flavour, the prescription must clearly specify mixed, assorted, or various flavours.
On the EPS system the AF (assorted flavours) box must be ticked by the prescriber on their computer system.
