Not listed in Part VIIIB of the Drug Tariff

Pharmacy

Where the unlicensed medicine is manufactured under a specials license or sourced under an importers license issued by the MHRA, you should endorse the:

  • MHRA licence number of the supplier or importer 
  • batch number of the item 
  • pack size from which the order was supplied 
  • invoice price per pack size from which the product was supplied less discount or rebates 
  • 'SP' endorsement to claim the fixed fee to pay for cost incurred in sourcing the product 
  • 'ED' endorsement to claim the fixed fee for extemporaneous dispensing if the product has been extemporaneously dispensed by your pharmacy or a third party

Practice

No endorsement of price is needed if the item is in Part VIIIB.

You can endorse either:

  • 'SP' to claim the fixed fee to pay for cost incurred in sourcing the product
  • 'ED' to claim the fixed fee for extemporaneous dispensing if the product has been extemporaneously dispensed by your pharmacy or a third party

Practice

If out of pocket expenses are being claimed, the endorsement should be 'XP'. The actual cost of expenses must be claimed, up to a maximum of £20.
