Pharmacy

Where the unlicensed medicine is manufactured under a specials license or sourced under an importers license issued by the MHRA, you should endorse:

  • the MHRA licence number of the supplier or importer 
  • the batch number of the item 
  • pack size from which the order was supplied 
  • invoice price per pack size from which the product was supplied less discount or rebates 
  • 'SP' to claim the fixed fee to pay for cost incurred in sourcing the product 
  • 'ED' to claim the fixed fee for extemporaneous dispensing if the product has been extemporaneously dispensed by your pharmacy or a third party.

Practice

Pharmacy

No endorsement of price is needed if the item is in Part VIIIB.

The only thing you may need to endorse is one of the following:

  • 'SP' to claim the fixed fee to pay for cost incurred in sourcing the product.
  • 'ED' to claim the fixed fee for extemporaneous dispensing if the product has been extemporaneously dispensed by your pharmacy or a third party.

Practice

If out of pocket expenses are being claimed, the endorsement should be XP. The actual cost of expenses must be claimed, up to a maximum of £20.
