If you have had a miscarriage before the 24th week of pregnancy, normal sickness absence provisions will be applied (up to 60 days paid bursary entitlement).

If the baby was stillborn after the 24th week of pregnancy, you would be entitled to receive a continuous bursary from the day after the date of the birth. You can continue to receive most or all of your normal bursary payments for up to 52 weeks. This can be extended in certain circumstances.
