If your partner lives abroad, you must include them in your application.

You can tell us how long they've been living abroad in the further information section.

If they've been living abroad for less than 4 weeks, they'll be included in your assessment as normal.

If they've been living abroad between 4 weeks and 52 weeks, income and capital for you and your partner will be included in your assessment but your living costs will be assessed as a single person.

After 52 weeks, your partner is no longer considered part of your household and any payments received from them must be included in your application as maintenance payments in section 5.2.
