You can get help towards one NHS-funded sight test every 2 years.
Help can also be given more frequently if you're:
- under 16
- aged 70 years or older
- diagnosed as diabetic
- a diagnosed glaucoma patient
- aged 40 or over and are a parent, brother, sister, son or daughter of a diagnosed glaucoma patient or you have been advised by an ophthalmologist as being at risk of glaucoma
Your optician can authorise an NHS-funded sight test more than once every 2 years if they deem it clinically necessary. You must discuss this directly with your optician.
