If you ask your General Practitioner (GP) or Consultant Medical Specialist to complete ‘Part C’ of the ill health application form or 'Part 2' of the early payment of deferred benefits form, any charges or fees are your responsibility.
We cannot pay any costs associated with the completion of your ill health application form.
Occupational Health doctors cannot claim a fee.
Hospital doctors and consultants cannot claim a fee unless you’re not their patient and you need a special examination or case note study. These restrictions are confirmed on the Consideration of entitlement to ill health retirement benefits (AW33E) and Consideration of entitlement for early payment of deferred benefits due to ill health (AW240).
