You can retire and claim your 1995 or 2008 Section benefits without reduction once you reach the Normal Pension Age (NPA) for the section of the Scheme your benefits are held in.

You do not have to claim your 1995 or 2008 Section benefits at the same time as your 2015 Scheme benefits.

If you want to claim them all at the same time and you’re under your normal retirement age in the 2015 Scheme, the 2015 Scheme benefits will be reduced for early payment.

1995 Section

NPA is age 60.

If you have Special Class (SC) or Mental Health Officer (MHO) status and meet the eligibility criteria, you can claim your 1995 Section benefits at 55 without reduction.

2008 Section

NPA is age 65.

2015 Scheme

NPA is State Pension Age or age 65 if it’s later.
