Your pension benefits are treated as earned income and are taxed before being paid to you.
We’ll deduct tax under a temporary code until we’re given the correct code from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). This can take up to 3 months.
If you want to query your tax code, contact HMRC.
If tax has been deducted from your pension, we’ll send you a P60 after the end of each tax year.
NI contributions
NI contributions will not be deducted from your NHS pension.
