The prescription charge on your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) relates to the prescription you collected. The date the prescription was collected shows on your PCN.

Prescription costs are calculated on the number of items prescribed. For example, 2 items prescribed on a single prescription will cost twice the standard prescription amount.

Some prescribed items may attract more than one prescription charge, for example because the pack contains more than one ingredient

As of 1 April 2021, the standard prescription item cost is £9.35. Before April 2021 it was £9.15.
