You're not entitled to claim your benefits on redundancy terms if:

  • you have less than 2 years qualifying membership
  • you have less than 2 years continuous employment
  • you've not reached your minimum pension age
  • you're a Dental, Medical or Ophthalmic Practitioner including General Practitioners (GPs)
  • you're made redundant from employment with a GP Practice
  • you're made redundant from employment with an Out of Hours (OOHs) provider
  • you're made redundant from employment with an Alternative Provider of Medical Services (AMPS)
  • you're made redundant from employment with a Specialist personal medical services (sPMS)
  • you're made redundant from employment with a direction body or are working for other approved employers connected to the NHS
  • your contractual terms and conditions do not entitle you to claim redundancy pension as an alternative to receiving either in whole or in part, the cash redundancy payment from your employer
