Maternity Leave entitles all pregnant employees to 52 weeks maternity leave.

Further information about the Maternity process can be found on The Hub

There are three application forms that you can complete, depending on your length of service:

  • M1A – employees will have one year continuous service at the 11th week before the baby is due
  • M1B – employees will have 26 weeks continuous service at 15th week before the baby is due
  • M1C – employees have under 26 weeks service by 15th week before the baby is due

To enable your maternity to be processed and ensure you are paid correctly, your Line Manager needs to upload your maternity application form, which can be found on the Hub,  and a copy of your MATB1 to the Document Transfer Service (DTS). The original MATB1 needs to be sent directly to Payroll.

Once the information is received via DTS, the HR Shared Services (HRSS) Electronic Staff Record (ESR) team have 20 working days to process your maternity application. They will send a letter confirming your maternity dates and entitlements.

We will then send all the maternity paperwork, along with the letter, to payroll.

The HRSS ESR team will input the maternity absence into ESR, the month your maternity leave is due to commence.

If you require your maternity payments to be equally paid over a longer period, please state this in your application or contact the Payroll team directly to arrange this.
