You can add a partner and any children, also called ‘dependants’, to your application.

Once you've submitted your application, you'll receive an automated email confirming your application has been successful.

Applying for a partner

Your partner must live with you at the same address to include them as a dependant on your application.

They must have a valid National Insurance number (NINO) to apply for a UK GHIC online.

If your partner does not have a valid NINO, send the details of your application to our helpdesk using our online form.

Applying for a child

Children must be under age 18 at the time of the application and live with you.

You can use the online portal to apply for a dependant UK GHIC for your foster child.
