Candidates are transferred to the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) with the person type of ‘Applicant’ during the Offer stage of a recruitment.

The HR Shared Services (HRSS) Contracts Team will update ESR with the person type of ‘Employee’ and enter the new employee’s assignment details upon receipt of a New Employee Starter Form (NESF); this process is known as hiring a new employee onto ESR.

Where an external candidate is coming into the organisation on a secondment basis, they will be hired onto ESR with the person type ‘Secondee’ upon receipt of a Secondment Control Form (SECF).
