External link: Employer - What happens when I issue a contract to an applicant in NHS Jobs and ESR?

If the applicant's pre-employment checks are satisfactory, you'll add their start date and issue them a contract using NHS Jobs.

Once added, NHS Jobs transfers this information to ESR. Once complete, their applicant record is updated with the projected hire date.

An unconditional offer is sent and accepted by the applicant after their pre-employment checks have been completed and are marked as satisfactory.

This triggers both the projected hire date to be sent to ESR, this could be the same date as the previous one sent at the conditional offer stage or an updated date. It also triggers all the completed pre-employment check records ESR holds to be sent.
