This depends on if the DCP completed all or part of the treatment.

Full treatment

If the DCP has completed the full CoT without a dental performer, they must submit their own FP17.

These are submitted using the DCPs Personal ID.

Part treatment

If DCPs share a CoT with a dental performer, the dental performer’s Personal ID must be included on the FP17.

When completing an FP17, you must include:

  • the type of DCP such as a dental therapist or a dental hygienist
  • the DCP’s General Dental Council (GDC) number - this is validated against the GDC register on Compass

Both fields must be completed for the FP17 to be accepted.

The provider is responsible for deciding how they'll pay their DCP and performer for the work carried out.
