If you're an active pensioner who has claimed all or part of their pension, returned to work and continue to contribute into the NHS Pension Scheme, you cannot do the actions a pensioner member can.

View a copy of your ABS

On the 'Benefits Dashboard', select 'Current Retirement Benefits'.

See the personal details we hold for you

On 'Your Details', select 'Personal details'. This will show your:

View your salary and contributions history

Select 'Earnings History' to show the amounts recorded for each year. This does not show any employer contributions.

View your employment history

Select 'Service Employment' to show a history of your pensionable membership. This will show the dates of membership and the name of the employer.

There will be a second employment showing for when you moved to the 2015 Scheme.

If you’ve worked part-time, you can view the total hours worked for each financial year by selecting 'Your Details' and 'Part-time Hours Details'.

Add or change your contact details

On 'Your Details', select 'Contact Details' and 'Edit'.

If you're an active member of the Scheme, you must update any changes with your current NHS employer.

Add, amend, and delete your nominations

To add a nomination:

  1. Select Manage your Pension.
  2. Select Nominations.
  3. Read the declaration.
  4. Select Accept.
  5. Select Nominate Person or Nominate Organisation.
  6. Enter your nominee or organisation details.
  7. Select either Partner NominationDeath Benefit Election if your membership ended before 1 April 2008 or Death Lump Sum if you've contributed to the Scheme on or after 1 April 2008.
  8. Enter the percentage share.
  9. Enter the address for the nominee or select the Use your address option if they live at the same address.
  10. Select Save and Continue.
  11. Check the nomination.
  12. Select Save and Continue if it’s correct or Undo changes if a mistake has been made.

Your nomination will be updated on your pension record within 24 hours. We'll contact you if it's rejected including the reason why and the actions to take.

Existing nominations can be amended or deleted by selecting 'Nominations' and the:

  • pencil icon to amend a nominee’s details
  • bin icon to delete the nomination

View your sign-in location history

This shows the:

  • time and date of login
  • browser and operating system used
  • IP address

If you do not recognise any of the details, you must change your password.

Update your account login and security details

Select 'Manage your Pension' and 'My Account'. Updating your email address or telephone number does not update the contact details under 'Your Details'.

Change your email address

To change your email address:

  1. Select Account Details/Recovery.
  2. Select Change next to the email address showing.
  3. Re-enter your password.
  4. Verify the new email address using the link sent to you by email - if the email has not been received, check your junk or spam folders before selecting Resend from the notification banner.

Change your telephone number

To change the telephone number used to send the SMS message when logging in:

  1. Select Account Details/Recovery.
  2. Select Change next to the telephone number showing.
  3. Re-enter your password.

Change your password

On 'Password & Sign-in Method', select 'Change Password'.

You'll be asked to re-enter your current password before creating a new one.

Change your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) method

On 'Password & Sign-in Method', select 'Change Two Factor Authentication Settings'.

Select the 2FA method you want to use and follow the instructions.

Add security questions

To add security questions:

  1. Select Change Security Questions.
  2. Re-enter your password.
  3. Select a security question from the drop-down list.
  4. Enter your answer.
  5. Select Continue.

View copies of your monthly payslips and P60s

To view your payslip or P60:

  1. Select the drop-down arrow next to 'Manage your Pension'.
  2. Select P60 or Payslip.
  3. Select the year and month on the drop-down menu.
  4. Download the payslip or P60 - this will be added to your 'Downloads' folder.

Update your bank details

To update the UK bank account your pension is paid into:

  1. Select Bank Details.
  2. Select Change Your Bank Details.
  3. Enter your sort code, account number, and building society number if applicable.
  4. Select Effective Date.
  5. Select Confirm to make the changes.
