The PFS is an advanced service that replaced the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS).
The PFS has 3 elements:
- Clinical pathways
- Urgent repeat medicine supply
- NHS referrals for minor illness
The PFS includes 7 new clinical pathways. This allows pharmacists to offer advice and prescribe NHS medicines to treat:
- sinusitis
- sore throat
- earache
- infected insect bites
- impetigo
- shingles
- uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women
Register for PFS
To register for the PFS, complete the opt-in process on the manage your service (MYS) portal.
A monthly fixed payment of £1,000 will be paid to pharmacy contractors delivering the PFS who reach the minimum number of Clinical Pathway consultations required.
