You must tell us when your child is born.
It's your responsibility to tell us about your new child. You'll only be paid from the date you tell us and their details are confirmed with Universal Credit, if applicable.
If you're receiving Universal Credit, you must add your child's details to your existing claim.
You must also make sure your child is named on your Universal Credit award.
If you receive any other benefit, you must send us a copy of your child’s birth certificate.
