If you live in England
You can find who stocks Healthy Start vitamins in your area on the NHS Choices website.
You can also ask your midwife or health visitor where you can get free Healthy Start vitamins.
To collect your Healthy Start vitamins, you must present your Healthy Start card to the retailer.
If you do not receive Universal Credit, you’ll have received an email when your Healthy Start application was accepted. This tells you to show the email to collect your vitamins.
If we do not have an email address for you, we will send a letter confirming your application has been processed as an alternative.
If you’ve not received confirmation that your application has been processed or it’s been lost, contact our helpdesk for this to be resent.
If you live in Wales
You can collect free vitamins at your local health board.
To collect your Healthy Start vitamins, you must present your Healthy Start card to the retailer.

If you live in Northern Ireland
We’ll send you a letter explaining how to request your free vitamins.
To order your vitamins, you must email nivitaminorders@nhsbsa.nhs.uk including:
- your client ID number, this is the 10-digit number on the top of the letter you received with your card
- your full name
- your date of birth
- your full address and postcode
- the type of vitamins you need
Your order will be sent to the Business Services Organisation (BSO) in Northern Ireland within 10 working days. They'll post the vitamins to you.
You must allow up to 7 working days to receive your vitamins following approval.

You must submit an order by email every time you need more vitamins. This is normally every 8 weeks.
