If you're a doctor, midwife, or health visitor unable to login or register for the service:

  • make sure you're using the correct web link https://maternity-exemption.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/apply/start
  • try opening the correct web link in a different web browser
  • try accessing the link in 'Incognito mode' by selecting 'CRTL', 'SHIFT' and 'N' for Google Chrome or 'InPrivate Browser' by selecting 'CTRL', 'SHIFT' and 'N' for Microsoft Edge

If the service says your password is incorrect, you must contact your IT department to reset your password.

If you're still unable to login or register, email healthcosts@nhsbsa.nhs.uk including:

  • your full name
  • your Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or General Medical Council (GMC) number
  • your NHS or Trust email
  • a screenshot of the error message
  • the name of the browser you’re using
  • the URL when the error happens - copy and paste the link from the web address bar

Once we've received this information, we’ll raise your issue with our Technical team to investigate further. You'll receive a response within 10 working days.
