If you gave an email address on your S1 application, you'll get a confirmation email within 24 hours of the S1 being issued. 

To download your S1 you must:

  1. Select the link in the confirmation email.
  2. Select Start now.
  3. Enter your Overseas Healthcare Services (OHS) reference number which is on the confirmation email.
  4. Enter your full name, date of birth, and National Insurance number (NINO).
  5. Select Download your S1 certificate and cover letter.

An S1 for a dependant must be downloaded by the main applicant. The main applicant must:

  1. Select the link in the confirmation email.
  2. Select Start now on the ‘Download an S1 certificate for someone else’ page.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. Enter their own NINO.
  5. Select Continue.
  6. Enter the dependant’s OHS reference number which is on the confirmation email.
  7. Enter the dependants full name and date of birth.
  8. Select Download your S1 certificate and cover letter.
