If a fluoride varnish application is:
- completed by a clinician, it's appropriate to claim under a Band 1 treatment
- provided by a dental nurse, the dental nurse can claim 0.5 units of dental activity (UDA)
A dental nurse must be added to the contract as dental care professional (DCP) to be able to submit the claim with their own Personal ID.
As with any Band 1 claim, an examination and completion of the planned treatment which the patient is willing to undergo, is a requirement.
