Once you've confirmed with your university you're withdrawing or taking an interruption from your course, you must contact us as soon as possible to request all future payments are placed on hold.
This will help minimise any possible overpayment.
Your university must send us a Withdrawal form (BUR101W) to tell us you've withdrawn from your course. This includes the date you're withdrawing.
If you do not agree with the withdrawal date, you must discuss this with your university.
Your university must give a reason for any amendments to your withdrawal details for us to consider a recalcuation.
Within 25 working days of receiving the form, a withdrawal calculation will be carried out on all elements of your bursary excluding any Childcare Allowance (CCA).
You're entitled to payment from the first day of your course until the last date of attendance on the course.
If you've already received any payments after the last date, an overpayment will be raised.
CCA
Any CCA payments received will not initially be included as part of the withdrawal calculation as these payments must be reconciled first.
You'll be asked to send a Childcare Reconciliation form and your receipts at the end of the current reconcile period.
Once received, we'll do an additional withdrawal calculation.
