You're eligible for a free NHS sight test if:

  • you've been diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
  • you're aged 40 or over and your mother, father, sibling or child has been diagnosed with glaucoma
  • you've been advised by an ophthalmologist that you're at risk of glaucoma

You must have a statement from your General Practitioner (GP) or eye hospital clinic which says you’re either suffering from glaucoma or at risk of glaucoma.

If you've recently paid for an NHS sight test, contact the Integrated Care Board (ICB) for a refund.
