An overpayment may happen if:
- you’re an NHS Pensioner and your pension is recalculated after going into payment
- a pensioner passes away and receives a payment after their death
- you’re in receipt of a dependant partner pension or child allowance and your entitlement to these payments stops but you did not inform us.
If a pension or retirement lump sum is overpaid, the money must be repaid.
We may recover the overpayment by reducing future pension payments. We’ll contact you to tell you of this.
If this is not possible, we’ll contact you or the personal representative with details of the overpayment.
Read information on how to make repayments.
If you have any questions about the overpayment, contact NHS Pensions.
