A ‘continuation’ is when you return to the same practice for more NHS dental treatment within 2 calendar months of completing an earlier treatment.

You will not be charged if the continuation is from the same treatment band as the original treatment or lower.

Continuation does not apply if either:

  • the first course of treatment was incomplete
  • the patient has an urgent course of treatment
  • 2 months has passed since the initial course of treatment
