Eligible students may receive a £2,000 Parental Support payment per student, per academic year.
To be eligible you must have parental responsibility for a child who is under 15 years of age as the start of the academic year, or under 17 years of age if the child is registered with special educational needs.
You must also have applied and be eligible for the Training Grant.
You will need to apply for Parental Support each academic year.
Your application must be submitted within six months of the start of the academic year (or within six months of the date you gained parental responsibility if this is later).
If you are attending your course on a part-time basis, you will receive the pro rata amount of the £2,000, depending on your attendance pattern.
